Mandala 42 - Rainbow coloured by Mandala-Jim Mandala 42 - Rainbow coloured by Mandala-Jim
Original Indian ink fineliners on bristol board. Here's a link to my original drawing: [link] This was then scanned and coloured, stroke by stroke (hour by hour) in CS5.

Quite a project, but one that I'm happy with. And I did have a little help with the colouring from my partner and her daughter :) Thanks guys!

It looks a lot better enlarged so zoom in or try and display on a big monitor or perhaps buy a large print ;)

I'll be trying the other colour suggestions soon.. This has been taking up ALL my spare time :)

Hope you like it as much as we do :)

I don't mind spending time and effort when I know that the end result will be worth it. That being said I have thrown hundreds of pieces of work midway when I get a sudden "I don't like where this is going" type feeling. Drawing mandalas helps keep me centered. I suffer with anxiety and when I draw it's almost like medication. Instant peace :D

good! and i think i know what you mean. it is also meditation i think. but if it helps you then it is even better. i have that when i have a panic atack or when i have an astma attack. then drawing or working on art makes me feel more relaxed too. that and giving myself Tera Mai Reiki/seichem healings also helps :). so yes i do understand that this helps you alot.
Take care
